Meet Samsung's sustainability team

Sustainability requires team-efforts, and that's why we at ASAP are proud to present Samsung Nordic's sustainability team! The following text is written by the people at Samsung. 

As one of the largest companies in the world, operating in over 70 countries and employing 320 000 people, Samsung must work with the whole range of sustainability matters and not solely do what is right but also do the right things. This brings a demand for different competences, knowledge and areas of expertise. At Samsung Nordic, we are seven people who possess different skills, innovates and works with sustainability solutions. Elin Wallberg, Corporate Citizenship & Partnerships Manager   

Education: MSc in Economics and Business, Royal Institute of Technology  + BSc in Journalism, Stockholm University.
Time at Samsung: 4 years
What do you do at Samsung? My team heads up Samsung human centered open innovation and strategic partnerships. In practice, this means we leverage our leadership in technology and innovation and adopt it to develop new solutions for the society.
What drives you and makes you want to work with sustainability questions? My passion lies in technology and sustainability innovation and to find new solutions, models and products which are better, more efficient and sustainable than existing ones. The only way to achieve a sustainable future is through partnerships, only by combining forces, will we able to reach the global goals.

Annachiara Torciano, Director Sustainability Europe & Corporate Affairs Nordic

Educational background: BSc International Relations and MSc Economic History, The London School of Economics and Political Science; and MBA, Stockholm School of Economics
Time at Samsung: 4 years
What do you do at Samsung? I focus on integrating sustainability even more into the business. I lead activities and stakeholder communication on sustainability with a focus on Europe, work with our global head office on strategy, and I am also responsible for corporate affairs in the Nordics.
What drives you and makes you want to work with sustainability questions? Sustainability and corporate affairs cover many areas that are crucial to society, and that will be more important in the future. It is about company culture, driving change, working closely with the business and meeting current and future expectations from customers, consumers, employees and society at large.

Susanne Andersson, Sustainability Specialist           

Educational background: MSc Economics Time at Samsung: 2 years What do you do at Samsung? I am responsible for environmental compliance and for replying to sustainability requirements in tenders. Moreover, I also drive discussions in sustainability related topics both internally and externally. What drives you and makes you want to work with sustainability questions? The possibility to work with brilliant colleagues all over the world collaborating to find ways to work in a more sustainable way. Caroline Håård, Strategic Partnership Lead

Educational background: MSc Economics, University of Gävle 
Time at Samsung: 13 years
What do you do at Samsung? I work with collaboration and strategic partners to leverage Samsung innovation leadership in the Nordic region. In our partnerships we want people, products and services to contribute to a better society.   
What drives you and makes you want to work with sustainability questions? There must be a planet that can be lived on in the future. There is no planet B.

Claudia Enzi, Sustainability Officer

Educational background: MSc in Energy and Environmental Engineering, University of Pinkafeld, Austria. MSc Sustainability Management, University of Graz, Austria.  Time at Samsung: 1 year What do you do at Samsung? I support our sales team regarding sustainability questions, especially social sustainability. I manage the Swedish chemical tax, our Nordics sustainability report and engage with various stakeholders.   What drives you and makes you want to work with sustainability questions? It drives me to work with questions that matter and where you feel that you have an impact.  It's great to work for an international top company like Samsung and represent the high sustainability awareness of the Nordics within the company. Anna Rydén, Social Innovation Lead        

Education: BSc Political Science & Economics, Linköping University. MSc Business Management, Stockholm University Time at Samsung: 2 years What do you do at Samsung? I work with our initiatives, projects and citizenship partners to innovate and co-create tech-based solutions that will benefit the need and people in our society. What drives you and makes you want to work with sustainability questions? I am very value-driven as a person and must work with questions that I am truly passionate about. We face the most exciting time in history where the choices and actions we take today will impact the world as we know it for future generations.
